Celebrating Cynthia

As we have shared, our dear executive director, Cynthia Scannell, left this earth in April of this year after a hard-fought cancer battle.

Friends and family gathered to celebrate her life while sharing pictures and precious memories to honor her and the legacy she leaves behind.

Robert, our co-founder and her husband, shared with those gathered how RJS came to be and how our Butterfly Houses were named. There were even touches of butterflies throughout the service. Robert also reminded us of the hope Cynthia carried, even on her toughest days. Robert shared a specific story with those gathered of how even on a day when Cynthia received difficult news from her doctors, she raised a glass and said, “to Hope.”

Cynthia, thank you for being a gift to us. Thank you for always being light and love. We will miss you terribly, but we know you are dancing in Heaven.
