Hope House

Family Promise is expanding their transitional housing program to provide domestic violence survivors and their children with a safe, supportive place to rebuild their lives and begin healing from the trauma they have endured.

Every year, Family Promise receives more than 200 crisis calls related to domestic violence. While we connect every caller with additional resources and shelter options, shelters remain at capacity with long waitlists.

Through this work, they have learned something important:

Some of the survivors are already working hard to rebuild their lives—they don’t necessarily need long-term assistance, but they do need a safe, stable transitional period to regain their footing, save for permanent housing, and establish the foundation for lasting independence.

Many survivors are working. They are caring for children. They are determined to create a better future. They may be able to contribute toward rent but cannot afford the current market rate. What they need is time, guidance, stability, safety, and someone walking alongside them as they work toward independence. That is why Family Promise is taking action with the Hope House.

Each resident will work closely with a Family Promise case manager to establish an individualized and realistic timeline for their stay based on their circumstances, goals, and progress toward permanent housing. Residents will receive intentional, one-on-one case management focused on the practical steps that can move them toward lasting independence.

The Hope House is designed to be more than a place to sleep. It is a bridge from crisis to independence.
