Planting Hope, Growing Together

Our friends over at Family Promise of Hendricks County have joined hands with the Purdue Extension Nutrition Program to create something truly special- The Growing Together Community Garden on Scannell Lane!

Thanks to a county-wide mini grant, this garden will be more than just soil and seeds- it will serve as a symbol of nourishment, healing, and hope. It is designed to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables for families experiencing poverty. This initiative will bring life and love right into Scannell Lane’s own backyard!

With every raised bed they build, they are planting more than food- they are planting the promise of a healthier, more connected community. This garden will be lovingly tended by their clients and volunteers and it will serve the Almost Home shelter guests as well as every family living on Scannell Lane.

Everything is off to a beautiful start- the garden beds are ready and now they just need helping hands to keep this dream growing.
