Medical Support

In April, NRN had a visit through their medical pod. The trip was full of impactful moments and meaningful progress! The medical team conducted two full clinic days at their school, providing care to students. A total of 137 students received medical and nutritional evaluations, while 106 participated in ophthalmology screenings. As a result of these screenings, the medical pod was able to purchase 23 pairs of eyeglasses for students in need, funded through the medical pod contributions. Additionally, 117 children visited the dentist for routine checkups and minor procedures.

A special educational meeting was also held for families of high-risk students who have gastric feeding tubes and those who are being considered for gastric feeding tubes due to malnutrition or swallowing concerns. The session fostered a spirit of community and mutual support, as parents encouraged one another, shared practical tips for G-tube care, and discussed methods for blending food to make the process easier and more manageable and sanitary.

One of the most encouraging outcomes of the team’s ongoing efforts is the dramatic reduction in anemia among Agape students from 60% down to just 4% of students thanks to the continued distribution of multivitamins with iron.

RJS Foundation continues to support the efforts of Dr. Karla and help provide funding for their special needs students medications.
